Zavial
On a dramatic cliffside facing the ocean, Zavial, known among climbers as Crag X, is a hidden gem on the Algarve’s west coast. With steep limestone walls, sharp overhangs, and technical faces, it’s a paradise for intermediate and advanced climbers. The crag features around 4 sectors and over 40 routes, ranging from solid 6a challenges to pumpy 7c climbs. Surrounded by unspoiled nature, the silence here is only broken by the sound of the sea.
Reaching the base of the crag involves a 4c-grade downclimb along a fixed rope. The access is reserved for the more adventurous and experienced climbers seeking, solitude, focus, and a immersive adventure with deeper connection to the rock.
